What is PPC? And how does it differ from SEO?

PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click. PPC is a way for websites to appear on high rank in search engines by paying to search engines. When a user types specific keywords into search engine, the search engine will separate both list paid list and unpaid list on the results. It is a contract between a search engine and business organization which enables an organization to place small ad on the right hand side, or top left hand side of the result page for specific keywords. So, it is different from SEO.

Differences between SEO and PPC:-

Display :-
One of the main noticeable difference between PPC and SEO is where your listing would appear on search engine result page.  PPC listings are displayed on top two or three listings as well as right hand side column on search pages. Organic listings are regular listings. They are seen in the middle area of the page.

Cost: :-
SEO does not have any obvious cost, you are not charged by search engines to display your results. Costs for SEO are cost of onsite optimizing, link building, and creating a good website. PPC costs per click. For getting higher rank you have to bid. It only depends on the market and the competition, etc. In PPC you will have to pay when someone clicks your website. You don’t need to pay anything to have your ad just sitting there.

Traffic Potential :-
Traffic Potential is different in each method. Its normally  much faster to get  paid listings, it takes a short time to set up a PPC campaign, though managing an effective campaign needs ongoing and consistent attention. That all said, the organic listings actually tend to produce much more traffic for the same search phrase, all things being equal. Generally users are more likely to trust and therefore click on organic listings than on paid listings in the search engines.

It depends on your needs that which one is better for your website because both have advantages and disadvantages whilst in use.
